Noir Desir

Noir Désir is the name of the band that produced the masterpieces of french rock music. Actually although I ve tried so hard I couldn't find anything better than NoirDez, not even close. A great vocalist, nice rythms, violins sometimes... Their songs are pretty nice. L'homme pressé, Un jour en France, Le vent nous portera, Lost, Tostaky, A ton etoile... and many more songs. They had a "gauchist" politic view. They were rebel but not in a bad way.

Bertrand Cantat was the vocalist of this band and what he did absolutely shocked me. He was with a woman called Marie Trintignant. She was an actress and Cantat's gf. But Cantat beat and killed her. He is in jail now. And the band no longer exists.

If you have never heard of Noir Desir and haven't listened to it, you surely miss too much. They made the best rock music with French lyrics. French people even liked rock music! You know, their style is not around such kind of a genre. They have their classical "chanson" style and it is different. I don't know if there are any bands in France like Noir Desir but I would like to know about them.
