Riga, Lielaakaa Pilseeta
Riga is the biggest city among Baltic cities. But it's the least important title for it actually. Because it has much more than it. First of all its architectural side is really unbelievable. I'll add a slide show of pictures from Riga very soon so that my readers can see more about it (although i know who my readers are :D) . There is a monument of freedom called "Milda" at the centre of Riga. There are 3 stars that is built between 1st and 2nd world wars and those stars represents 3 regions in Latvia: Kurzeme, Vidzeme and LATGALE ( Chau Chuwax). Around the monument there is something like a river and people are canoeing and water-cycling.Not enough for sure... Here the most interesting information comes. In 1510 it was the first time that a tree was decorated for Noel. It wasn't on purpose actually. People were celebrating the Noel and they went out of "House of Blackheads" and started to dance around a pine tree and put the things they had on it. In the end they fired the tree. It is supposed to be the first Noel tree that is decorated.
In Riga, a spooky story is told. In every 50-100 years a giant creature comes to the city and asks the security guard "Has the construction finished?". Guard knows the answer: "No, it hasn't". Because if he says "yes" the creature will cascade Daugava and the sweet pearl of Baltic, Riga, will be drown. Let me give u a secret... It's not true! :pI wanted to give some interesting infos about Riga. Later in a different article I will write about the politic history...
